Using Delphi 5 Forms with Vista

With Vista, Microsoft changed 2 properties related to the display of application windows. While Vista provides an XP compatible mode, neither of these defaults was adjusted in that mode. As a result, applications written with the Borland tools (such as Delphi 5) were guaranteed NOT to work with Vista. Based on the fact that this problem has been known for several years, and the fact that Microsoft has never fixed the "compatibility mode" or added a way to make older Delphi applications work with Vista, I feel justified saying that Until recently, Delphi was the major competitor of the .Net languages. Perhaps it is just paranoia, but it seems a bit of unfair for a monopoly to intentionally break applications written with tools from their ONLY real competitor.
